Winter Weight. Reversible Aztec Pattern. Handmade in Ecuador.

Namacuntza is an extra-large, reversible blanket woven from a baby alpaca wool blend in brown, with an Aztec Southwest pattern.

At about 1,750 g it is a thick, heavy blanket: a winter layer on the bed or a statement throw in the living room. It is reversible, so you choose which side faces up, and it is machine washable.

Why you’ll love it

  • Baby alpaca blend – soft, warm baby alpaca fibre in an easy-care blend
  • Real winter weight – about 3.9 lb of thick weave for cold nights
  • Reversible – two looks in one blanket
  • Extra large – 77 x 90 in, big enough for the top of a queen bed
  • Machine washable – made for everyday use, not just for show

Details

  • Material: 80% baby alpaca / 20% acrylic — the acrylic keeps the piece soft, washable and in shape for years
  • Color: Brown, Aztec Southwest pattern
  • Size: 77" x 90" (195 x 230 cm)
  • Weight: approx. 1,750 g / 3.9 lb
  • Features: Reversible, thick weave, machine washable
  • Made in: Ecuador — hand-woven by artisans

“Baby alpaca” is the name of the finest grade of alpaca fibre, not the age of the animal — alpacas are shorn once a year, like sheep.

Warmth

Heavy (about 3.9 lb) — a proper winter blanket for cold nights.

Size & fit

At 77 x 90 in, it covers the top of a queen bed and also works as a generous throw over a large sofa.

Care

  • Hand wash cold with a mild detergent (or delicate cycle in a mesh bag)
  • Do not bleach or tumble dry
  • Lay flat or hang with support to dry, out of direct sun
  • Steam or low iron with a cloth if needed

Handmade, so no two are identical. Each piece is woven by hand in Ecuador. Colours can be a shade lighter or darker than on screen, and fringe and pattern placement vary slightly — that is the signature of a real artisan piece, not a flaw.
