Winter Warmth. Bold Aztec Pattern. Handmade in Ecuador.
Shakai is our warmest Aztec poncho: hooded, generously cut and woven from a baby alpaca wool blend in black with a cream pattern.
A hooded pullover poncho in the bold Aztec-style geometric pattern our Otavalo weavers are known for. Baby alpaca fibre is finer and softer than standard alpaca, so this one is warm without itch and drapes rather than bulks. The wooden buttons at the neck let you open the collar on milder days.
Why you’ll love it
Baby alpaca – finer and softer than standard alpaca, smooth against the skin
Real winter weight – a substantial poncho for genuinely cold days
Hood and button collar – open it on milder days, close it in the wind
Bold Aztec pattern – with hand-tied fringe
Hand-woven in Otavalo – fair-trade artisan work from Ecuador

Handmade, so no two are identical. Each piece is woven and dyed by hand in Otavalo, Ecuador. Colours can be a shade lighter or darker than on screen, and fringe and pattern placement vary slightly — that is the signature of a real artisan piece, not a flaw.
