Kids Poncho. Brushed-Soft Llama Wool. Handmade in Ecuador.
Caranqui is a hooded kids’ poncho in turquoise with a traditional Andean pattern, woven from llama wool and brushed on the inside for extra softness.
Named after the Caranqui people of northern Ecuador, whose weaving tradition Otavalo inherited. Hooded, with a wooden toggle at the neck, it goes on in a second over any outfit — school run, garden, camping, or the annual family photo.
Why you’ll love it
Brushed inside – extra soft against small skin
Hood and wooden toggle – warm, and easy for kids to manage
100% llama wool – warm, breathable, hard-wearing
Handmade in Ecuador – fair trade, heritage weaving

Material: 100% llama wool — warm, breathable and hard-wearing; brushed for softness
Choose by height rather than age — the chart is measured on the garment. Kids grow into a poncho well: if between sizes, size up. The hood and open sides make it easy to pull on over a jumper, and there are no zips or sleeves to fight with.
Care
Hand wash cold with a mild detergent (or delicate cycle in a mesh bag)
Do not bleach or tumble dry
Lay flat or hang with support to dry, out of direct sun
Steam or low iron with a cloth if needed
Handmade, so no two are identical. Each piece is woven and dyed by hand in Otavalo, Ecuador. Colours can be a shade lighter or darker than on screen, and fringe and pattern placement vary slightly — that is the signature of a real artisan piece, not a flaw.
